Things to do

Up

Wildlife watching.......

Whether out in the woods, on safari in Africa, or at a wildlife centre in Northumberland - there are two things you need lots of if you want to see wild animals - patience and peace and quiet, but if you have both you might glimpse some of The Sanctuary's long-term residents including foxes, badgers, barn owls, squirrels, tawny owls, hedgehogs and rabbits. barn_owls_1.jpg (210778 bytes)

And come and meet the goat gang too.......children__goats_3.jpg (210277 bytes)

As well as the wildlife, there are donkeys, ponies, goats and a real assortment of other creatures that were all in need of a new home, from degus to ducks and chipmunks to chinchillas, all have a story to tell.

Run wild in our play area.......

Spend all day here if you like.......

We have a small indoor tearoom which also has a soft play area for younger children.  This tearoom looks directly out onto the fenced-in play area, so parents can enjoy a quiet break while watching their children play in safety.

In here we serve light bites, such as children's picnic boxes, baked potatoes, toasted sandwiches, hot dogs, cakes, scones etc, all at very reasonable prices.    We also do the children's art & crafts within this tearoom.   However, this room is also the function room for children's parties so can be rather full during the 45 minutes that the party guests come in to eat.

At weekends, we have an outside catering cabin which serves baked potatoes with various fillings, as well as toasted sandwiches, hot dogs, cakes, scones etc, with lots of picnic tables to eat at.

There is also a 'designated picnic area' on site for those of you who would prefer to bring your own picnic.
