We were joined after lunch by Star, the Barn Owl, Meatball the hedgehog and Rose the Tarantula, all of which were very popular with the shoppers!   Never were so many photographs taken I think as there was today!

MAY DAY MONDAY

 Monday 4th May 2009

On May Day Monday, three local reptile enthusiasts brought along a variety of reptiles for our visitors to enjoy.

Rachel Jackson and Matt Hepburn brought along one of the most popular with our visitors - Gandalf, a bearded dragon, who arrived on a harness and lead!!  they also brought 2 corn snakes, 3 geckos and 2 fire skinks, which are reputed to be the most beautiful skinks in the world.

Clare Brass brought along a young boa constrictor, a young royal python, a fully grown Great Plains Rat Snake, a 9 month old corn snake and a leopard gecko.  Finally, a member of our own staff who is a reptile enthusiast also brought along her 2 adult corn snakes.

All were very calm reptiles which gave our visitors the chance to handle whichever they were interested in and most of them, including children as young as 4 years old took advantage of the opportunity.  Everyone certainly seemed to enjoy the experience!  Click on any of the thumbnails for a full size photograph
