Throughout the year The Sanctuary offers children a choice of various courses where they can come to The Sanctuary to  learn about animals and how we care for them.  We also run a wildlife club aimed at teaching children about wildlife where they can actually meet the wildlife they are learning about.

We are also regularly contacted by students requesting the possibility of learning more about working in a wildlife environment and so we are offering a training opportunity especially for students.

Scroll down for details of each individual course.

Pony Care & Stable Management - 2006

The Pony Care & Stable Management Course held on Saturday 30th September, 2006 was attended by 12 children.  They learned all aspects of looking after their own pony from Laurie, a British Horse Society Assistant Instructor.

The children all had a wonderful day and appeared to enjoy every moment.   Strangely enough the mucking-out was especially popular and they threw themselves into that task with great enthusiasm!

They also enjoyed a picnic lunch and left clutching a Certificate of Attendance and a horsey 'goody bag' - the perfect end to an enjoyable and educational day.

We intend to run more courses like this next year, so keep an eye on this page for further information.
